Aesthetics
As a design-centric company Bentley takes its aesthetics extremely seriously. This is evident in the precise positioning of its quilting and the use of leather that is made from by-products of cattle and sustainable managed forests, and the innovative patterns of its levers. A car like the Continental GT W12 beckons as you take it in with its striking sculptural appeal and power with carefully selected lighting.
The Continental GT is the most sophisticated open-top Bentley ever designed. Its rear tonneau, as an example, showcased the biggest piece of dark-stained, book-matched Burr Walnut veneer ever applied to an actual production Bentley. Similarly, the electrically-operated glass sunroof and champagne cooler that incorporated hand-blown and hand-cut lead crystal bottles marked a new benchmark in luxury and innovation.
It is this bespoke design, attention to detail and craftsmanship to detail that has established Bentley as the world's most desirable automotive brand. The company continues to push boundaries with the latest technologies and hand-crafted products. This includes the introduction of an electronic tilt-opening rear window sunroof and a handcrafted Apple iPad docking station.
A century after its inception, Bentley - now under sole Volkswagen ownership after years of conflict with BMW and BMW - celebrated its centennial in 2019. The marque planned a variety of special events and launches to commemorate the milestone event before pandemic planning became a priority.

This prodigious power is complemented by a revolutionary suspension design that offers Bentley's famously quiet ride.
Bentley has introduced a special specification for cars made after the year 2019 in order to celebrate its centenary. This is called the Centenary Specification. Personalisation
Bentley's Mulliner division lets customers create their own car. Guests sit at a series of images called "mood stations" and pick a set of photos ranging from scenic vistas to sporting events - that inspire them. When each selection is made, a pattern is created, which reveals the model and color preferences of the customized Bentley.
The guests are given keys made by hand that contains the R.F.I.D. enabled key cards. The keys can be fitted with Bentley Muliner Personalised welcome lamps that illuminate the path of the door opening with the owner's name or logo as they approach the car.
Bentley estimates that it requires 500 man-hours to build and assemble a Mulsanne. One of the main reasons for that lengthy effort is a deliberate decision to embrace the latest technology. Instead of using a machine to space the perfectly matched leather seats workers at the Crewe factory do it by hand. Drivers have to park their cars manually, instead of using sensors built into the vehicle to guide them into parallel and perpendicular spots.
During the event, Bentley showcased its Mulliner personalization capabilities using one particular example of the Mulsanne W.O. Edition, which pays tribute to founder William Osler Bentley. The 100 limited edition cars come with an item key that shows an item from the 1930 8 Litre crankshaft.
